The Marriage of Figaro

Opera-Viva return to Aughton Village Hall on Friday the 16th May to perform Mozart’s comical “The Marriage of Figaro”

Everything seems to be going right for Figaro – the favourite servant of a grateful Count, the most convenient accommodation in the castle and the girl of his dreams for his future bride –
. . .then he learns that the Count has plans to win Susanna for himself and Figaro’s old enemy, Doctor Bartolo, is trying to force him to marry Marcellina, who is old enough to be his mother!
Add to this a disgruntled Countess, a page boy in love with all the women in the castle, a creepy music teacher, a grumpy gardener and a castle full of eccentric characters – set it all to the most sublime music and you have Mozart’s best loved opera.
